Okay... I know I said I would be better at keeping a blog. I tried!! Honestly, I tried... but once my district said we were going to use Canvas LMS instead of Google Classroom, it took up more of my time that I ever imagined. Canvas is not my favorite topic right now.... but I do have to say that I am starting to like it a tad bit now that my students know how to send me pictures of their work using their Chromebooks. Don't get me wrong... Canvas and I are not close friends, but maybe now we can start to be in the same room at the same time.

I am going to embed a YouTube video that I made to use with my students this week. This works with the Dell Chromebooks that the school distributed to our students... so, I honestly don't know if it's the same with all Chromebooks. But, it doesn't hurt to try right?! Please excuse the "kid-language" in the Video. (In my defense, I made this for my 3rd graders and I knew some of my co-workers would use it with even younger kiddos). I'm not using all the fancy techie terms. Anyhow, if it helps you, take it and use it! I'm adding this post and then another one later tonight with 2 videos (one for the teacher and one for students) on how to embed or assign Editable Google Slides as an assignment and have students log in for the first time, complete the assignment and submit it back to the teacher. Pretty cool huh?! So check that one out later. #CanvasLMS #Chromebooksforstudents #teachertips #distancelearning #virtuallearning #teacherstruggles #Teachershelpingteachers #Teachingduringpandemic

This year was like no other in my 20 years of teaching! As soon as we built a classroom community, a bond with each other, that ‘family feeling’... we left for Spring Break... and that’s it! We couldn’t go back... We didn‘t get to hug each other goodbye.😔This pandemic sucks!!! We got cheated our last months of school with our students. We didn’t get to see our kiddos’ smiles during all those end-of-the-year activities ( field trips, accomplishments, field day, etc... I MISS MY STUDENTS.
